Privacy Policy

Memnio ("we", "us", "our") is an adaptive learning app that assesses what you know, generates AI-powered practice questions calibrated to your level, and adaptively drills you until you've genuinely mastered a subject. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and the choices you have — including how to delete your account and your data.

1. Information we collect

• Account information. Your email address, when you create an account or sign in.
• Learning data. The questions you answer, your responses, timing, and the mastery/progress state we compute from them (e.g. which concepts you've mastered, are learning, or are due for review). This is what lets Memnio adapt to you.
• Subscription and billing data. If you subscribe to Memnio Pro, Apple or Google process your payment directly — we never see or store your card details. We do receive and store transaction identifiers, subscription status, and renewal dates from Apple/Google so we can grant you access to Pro features.
• Device and usage information. Basic technical information needed to operate the app (such as your device's operating system) and service logs used for reliability and debugging.

2. How we use your information

• To create and maintain your account, and let you sign in.
• To generate practice questions calibrated to your level, and to adapt what you're shown next based on your performance.
• To process and manage your Pro subscription, if you have one.
• To operate, secure, and improve the app.
• To respond to you if you contact us for support.

3. Who we share data with

We don't sell your data. We share the minimum necessary data with the following service providers, solely to operate Memnio:

• Supabase — hosts our database and handles authentication (sign-in/sign-up).
• Anthropic (Claude) and/or Google (Gemini) — process learning-content prompts (the concept being tested, difficulty level, and relevant context) to generate and verify practice questions. We do not send your email address or billing information to these providers.
• Apple App Store / Google Play — process subscription payments and provide us with transaction and subscription status data. Your payment details are handled entirely by Apple/Google under their own privacy policies.
• Cloud infrastructure providers — used to host our backend servers and database.

4. Data retention and deletion

You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete Account in the app. When you do:

• Your account is immediately signed out, and scheduled for deletion 14 days from your request.
• If you sign back in within those 14 days, deletion is automatically cancelled and your account is fully restored.
• If you don't sign back in, after 14 days we permanently delete your learning data — your question history, mastery/progress state, and session records — along with your account itself.
• We retain a limited set of billing-related records (such as transaction identifiers and subscription status) for longer, where needed for accounting, tax, and legal compliance. These records are no longer linked to an identifiable person once your account is deleted — there is no remaining way to trace them back to your name or email.

Deleting your Memnio account does not cancel an active Apple or Google subscription — you'll need to cancel that separately through Apple or Google's subscription management, or you may continue to be charged. The app links directly to subscription management from the Profile screen.

5. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data, and to know what data we hold about you. You can exercise the right to deletion directly in the app (see above), or contact us using the details below for any other request.

6. Children's privacy

Memnio is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

7. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do. Material changes will be communicated in the app.
